Day 1: Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen
Your tour begins with a warm welcome at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport or your hotel. We start with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, then drive to Rabat, Morocco’s imperial capital, to discover its rich history and architecture, including the Hassan Tower and the beautiful Kasbah of the Udayas. After lunch in Rabat, we continue to Chefchaouen, a stunning town set in the scenic Rif Mountains of northern Morocco. On arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed at your charming hotel or riad, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere after a full day of discovery.
Day 2: Chefchaouen → Fes
After breakfast at your hotel or riad, spend the morning exploring Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue City” of Morocco, whose streets painted in every shade of blue make it one of the most photogenic places in the country. Wander through the narrow lanes and alleys of the old medina and browse the busy markets, full of colorful goods and tempting aromas. When you’re ready for a break, stop at a cozy café or traditional restaurant to taste Moroccan specialties such as fragrant tagines and sweet pastries, and enjoy the relaxed pace of life and the friendly welcome of the locals. After lunch surrounded by Chefchaouen’s blue beauty, we take a scenic drive to Fes, a city famous for its fascinating history and remarkable architecture. In the evening, you’ll check into a beautiful riad in the heart of the old town for a comfortable and authentic night’s stay.
Day 3: Guided Tour of Fes
Today, enjoy a full-day tour of Fes with a local guide. Known for its rich history and culture, Fes is one of Morocco’s most important cities and its cultural and spiritual heart, filled with historic treasures to discover. Your tour begins at the golden gates of the Royal Palace before you dive into the narrow lanes of the medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inside the medina, you’ll see Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain and the Chouara Tanneries, each remarkable for its architecture and fine detail. Next, visit the Jewish quarter, known as the Mellah, and learn about the history of Fes’s Jewish community. To finish, head up to an old fortress for a panoramic view over the medina and the city before returning to your riad. With an experienced local guide by your side, it’s a wonderful way to fully experience the history and culture of Fes.
Day 4: Fes → Ifrane → Middle Atlas Mountains → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Desert
After breakfast at your riad, get ready for your desert adventure as we head south toward Merzouga. Our first stop is the pretty town of Ifrane, a pleasant place to stretch your legs and take in the peaceful surroundings. We then cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop in a cedar forest to see Barbary apes in their natural habitat, followed by lunch at a restaurant along the way. Next, we drive through the beautiful Ziz Valley, known for its lush palm oasis and green landscapes, before continuing toward the desert. We arrive in the afternoon, where you’ll climb onto your camel for a ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Along the way, we stop on a high dune to watch a breathtaking sunset as the sky fills with color and the sand glows golden. We then continue to a luxury camp, where you’ll be shown to your private tent with its own bathroom to relax and freshen up. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner of local cuisine, then gather around the campfire under the stars as the friendly camp team plays drums and traditional Berber music, and you can even try playing the drums yourself.
Day 5: Merzouga Desert → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Gorge
Wake up early to watch a brilliant sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or in a comfortable 4×4, where your guide and driver will be waiting to continue the journey toward the Dades Gorge. Along the way, you can visit the traditional market in Rissani if it’s market day (Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday), a lively place to discover local products and watch the bustle between traders and shoppers. Next, enjoy a walk through the spectacular Todra Gorge, surrounded by towering cliffs and the winding Todra River. As we approach the Dades Gorge, you’ll see the remarkable rock formations known as “monkey fingers,” then enjoy a scenic drive through the Dades Valley with panoramic views of the gorges before arriving at your charming hotel for a peaceful night.
Day 6: Dades Gorge → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas Mountains → Marrakech
On the final day of your tour, we drive to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Here you can choose to visit Atlas Studios, the largest film studio in Morocco, walking through famous film sets and learning how movies are made. We then continue to Ait Ben Haddou to explore the history of its famous kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has appeared in well-known films such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia, as well as the TV series Game of Thrones. Take your time to wander through it and admire its remarkable architecture and decorative details. After lunch at a local restaurant, we cross the High Atlas Mountains, stopping at viewpoints along the way to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
