5 days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech via Chefchaouen and the Sahara – Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Casablanca → Chefchaouen

Your Moroccan adventure begins with a warm welcome at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport or your hotel, where your friendly local guide will meet you. From there, we set off for Chefchaouen, a beautiful town tucked into the Rif Mountains of northern Morocco. On arrival, you’ll check into your charming hotel or riad and have free time to explore the town’s famous blue-washed streets. Wander through the narrow lanes, browse the lively markets, or relax at one of the cozy cafés and restaurants serving delicious Moroccan food. In the evening, unwind at your riad or hotel and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere after an exciting first day.

Day 2: Chefchaouen → Fes

After breakfast at your hotel or riad, we drive to Fes. On arrival, an experienced local guide will be waiting to show you the treasures of this medieval city. You’ll stroll through its historic streets, learn about its fascinating past and admire its beautiful architecture, with the option of lunch in the lively medina to enjoy authentic local flavors. After a full day of discovery, relax at a charming riad in the heart of the Fes Medina, a peaceful retreat in the middle of the bustling city, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 3: Fes → Ifrane → Middle Atlas Mountains → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Desert

After breakfast at your riad, we head south toward the Merzouga desert. Our first stop is the charming town of Ifrane, a perfect place to stretch your legs and enjoy the scenery. We then cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop in a cedar forest to watch Barbary apes in their natural habitat, before breaking for lunch at a restaurant along the way. Next, we drive through the beautiful Ziz Valley, known for its lush palm oasis, on our way to the desert. We arrive in the afternoon, where your camel caravan will be waiting to take you across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. During the trek, we stop on a high dune to watch a magical sunset before continuing to a luxury camp. On arrival, you’ll be shown to your private tent to relax and freshen up. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner of local cuisine, then gather around the campfire under the stars as the camp team plays lively drums and traditional Berber music, and you can even try playing the drums yourself.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Gorge

Wake up early to watch a magnificent sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, you can return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4, where your guide/driver will be ready to continue the journey to the Dades Gorge. Along the way, you can visit the traditional market in Rissani if it’s market day (Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday), and enjoy a relaxed walk through the spectacular Todra Gorge with its lovely views of the Todra River. As we approach the Dades Gorge, you’ll see the remarkable rock formations known as “monkey fingers” and enjoy a scenic drive through the Dades Valley with panoramic views of the gorges, before checking into a lovely hotel for a peaceful night.

Day 5: Dades Gorge → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas Mountains → Marrakech

On the last day of your tour, we drive to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa” and the “Gateway to the Desert.” Here you can choose to visit Atlas Studios, the largest film studio in Morocco, to explore famous movie sets and learn about filmmaking. We then continue to Ait Ben Haddou to visit its famous kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has appeared in many films, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Take your time to explore this historic site and admire its remarkable architecture and fine details. After lunch at a local restaurant, we cross the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying spectacular views along the way, and arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, bringing your 5 days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech via Chefchaouen and the Sahara to an end.
