4 days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech via Fes and Merzouga – Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Casablanca → Rabat → Fes

Your tour begins in the morning with a pick-up from Mohammed V International Airport, your hotel or anywhere else in Casablanca by one of our friendly local guides, who are always happy to share a laugh along the way. We start with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco and one of the biggest in the world. We then drive to Rabat to explore the Hassan Tower, the minaret of an unfinished mosque, and visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. After lunch in Rabat, we continue to Fes. In the evening, you can enjoy dinner in the Fes Medina before spending the night at a beautiful riad in the heart of the old city.

Day 2: Fes → Ifrane → Middle Atlas Mountains → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Desert

After breakfast at your riad, we leave Fes and head toward the Merzouga desert. Our first stop is Ifrane, a pretty town in the Middle Atlas Mountains often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” After a short break, we continue across the mountains and stop in a cedar forest to watch rare Barbary macaques in the wild. We’ll have lunch at a restaurant along the way, then carry on toward the desert via the Tizi n’Talghemt pass and the Ziz Valley. We arrive in Merzouga, a small village on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, in the late afternoon. Here, your camels and camel guide will be waiting to take you across the dunes to your desert camp, with a stop on a high dune to watch a peaceful sunset over the sand. On arrival at camp, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of tea and can relax in your private tent before dinner. After a delicious meal, join the Berber team around the campfire for music and conversation under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Canyon → Dades Gorges

Wake up early to watch the first golden rays of sunlight spread across the dunes, then enjoy breakfast at the camp. You’ll leave the camp either by camel or by 4×4. If it’s Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday, we can visit the traditional souk in Rissani. We then drive to Tinghir, stopping at a panoramic viewpoint over palm groves and Berber villages, before following the Todra River to the deep Todra Canyon, where you can walk beneath cliffs rising 300 meters high. Our final destination today is the Dades Gorges. Here we visit an area that lay at the bottom of the sea millions of years ago and is still rich in sediment layers, and enjoy a panoramic view of the famous winding road before heading to your hotel.

Day 4: Dades Gorges → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah → High Atlas Mountains → Marrakech

On the last day of your tour, we set off for Marrakech after breakfast at your hotel. First, we drive to Ouarzazate via Kelaat M’Gouna, known for its valley that fills with roses in spring. In Ouarzazate, we stop at Atlas Studios, the largest film studio in Africa, which you can choose to visit. Next, we head to the ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a striking example of southern Moroccan architecture. This fortified village has been the setting for many famous films, including Prince of Persia, Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy and Gladiator, and even became the city of Yunkai in Game of Thrones. After exploring the kasbah, we drive to Marrakech through the landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains and over the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, which reaches 2,260 meters (7,415 ft) above sea level, with several stops along the way. Your 4 days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech via Fes and Merzouga ends with a drop-off at your riad in Marrakech.
