Booking & Cancellation Policy

1. How Your Booking Is Confirmed

Your reservation with Desert Exploration Trips becomes a binding agreement once two things have happened:

• we have received your deposit, and
• we have sent you a written booking confirmation by email.

Until both steps are complete, your tour is not guaranteed.

2. Accepting These Terms

• Submitting a booking through our website means you have read and agreed to this policy.
• The person who makes the booking (the lead traveler) accepts these terms on behalf of everyone in the group.
• Any change or cancellation must be requested by the lead traveler only.

3. Why We Charge Cancellation Fees

Once a trip is confirmed, we commit money to it: camp and hotel reservations, vehicles, guides and local suppliers. Our cancellation fees cover only these real costs and are not a source of profit.

4. How to Cancel or Change a Booking

• Send your request in writing using the contact form on our website.
• Wait for written acknowledgment from our team. A cancellation is not processed until we have confirmed it.
• The fee that applies is calculated from the date we receive your written request.

All deadlines are counted from your original departure date, even if you have changed your booking since.

5. Cancellation Terms for Private Tours

The refund you are entitled to depends on the season of your departure.

Low & Mid Season
5 January – 28 February · 1 June – 30 September · 1 November – 20 December

Peak Season
1 March – 31 May · 1 October – 31 October · 21 December – 4 January

*Reservation and processing fees are non-refundable in all cases.

6. Refunds

• Approved refunds are issued without delay to the same card or payment method used for the deposit.
• After we release the payment, the time it takes to reach your account depends on your bank or payment provider. We have no control over these processing times.
